We invite you to join us on Sunday, August 18th, 2024, to celebrate the 3rd Hindu Heritage Festival at 9507 39 Ave NW, Edmonton AB T6E 5T3, together with the community.
As you know, the Govt of Alberta has declared August as Hindu Heritage Month and released Order in Council on July 29, 2021, to show gratitude towards the works done by the Hindu community in Alberta Province. This year, Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir Edmonton is leading with Bhartiya Cultural Society of Alberta and Hindu Society of Alberta.
To recognize the Govt of Alberta's efforts, the following three Hindu temples of Edmonton are jointly organizing the 3rd Hindu Heritage Month Festival on Sunday, August 18th, 2024, from 11 am to 5 pm:
- Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir, Edmonton
- Hindu Society of Alberta Mandir, Edmonton, and
- Bhartiya Cultural Society of Alberta Mandir, Edmonton.
This year, the festivities will take place at the Bhartiya Cultural Society of Alberta temple’s premises. Please consider it our personal invitation to join us with your family and friends at the 3rd Hindu Heritage Festival celebration. It will be an honor to have you join this event.
The festival presents an opportunity to come together to celebrate the contribution of the Hindu community across Alberta’s social, economic, political, and cultural fabric. Festivities will include Indian classical cultural dances, free food & an exhibition on the Hindu culture and heritage aimed at educating our youth and future generations about the Hinduism, its values and traditions of serving humanity. This also presents an opportunity for non-Hindus to learn about Hinduism, common practices, and tradition about giving back to the community.
As part of the celebrations, our joint effort is to support vulnerable people by collecting donations for a local Edmonton food bank. All are requested to bring food items and donate to the Edmonton Food Bank’s truck which will be parked at the temple.
